About the role
Based within the Future Students team in the Academic Planning department, this role will be responsible for proactively managing all aspects of the admissions process for a portfolio of programmes including those delivered by our partner institutions. The post holder will be responsible for a range of key functions including monitoring recruitment targets, arranging visits and interviews, assessing qualifications, making decisions on student applications and communicating with applicants and other stakeholders.
The post requires the holder to work collaboratively with all parts of the University, and externally with partners and applicants, to achieve recruitment targets and maintain a high level of knowledge about admissions. The role also takes responsibility for assisting with assessing current processes and helping to implement new procedures where necessary. The post holder will give advice to potential students and respond to enquiries submitted by email and telephone. They will also contribute to all major Academic Planning activities including open days, clearing, registration, assessments and graduation.
The post holder must have: demonstrable experience in working in an administrative role in the Higher Education sector or complex organisation; highly developed organisational skills and have considerable experience using computerised systems including databases and the internet. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to work within a team whilst prioritising your own workload effectively. The post holder will need to be positive, flexible and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. Previous experience of Admissions within the Higher Education sector would be an advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity to become one of our Student Information Officers and to join a busy but extremely valuable Student Information Team, supporting our student body and as the face of Bath Spa University, providing excellent front of house customer service to our students, staff and visitors. As a Student Information Officer, you will play a key role in coordinating staff presence in the drop in Student Hub space on the Newton Park campus and responding to in person enquiries. Also working closely with the Academic Registrar, this role will be a wonderful opportunity to support the planning, managing and delivery of high quality Graduation events, in line with agreed timeframes and deliverables. Playing a pivotal role in making this a special day for all.
The University operates a cross-departmental graduation team and this role holder will ensure regular and effective work collaboration and consultations across these teams and with our students and their guests to ensure the best possible customer experiences.

This exciting new role of Anglican Chaplain and Chaplaincy Team Leader is to work across the University to lead with the development of an inclusive approach to spiritual and pastoral care to all members of our community. Working as an integral member of the Student Wellbeing Services management team the post holder will engage with students and staff to provide spiritual and faith guidance, which align with the core University values of care and compassion. You will build a University Chaplaincy that reflects the diversity of our community and be a key stakeholder in developing a strategy for the chaplaincy.
