About the role
The School of Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Criminology from Sept 2020. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching criminology, or the demonstrable potential to teach criminology, including crimes of violence, the sociology of deviance and criminology research methods at undergraduate and post-graduate level.
The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in a relevant field and be willing to contribute to an emerging research culture in criminology at Bath Spa. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience of teaching in new and emerging areas of critical criminology, including green, queer, and zemiological criminologies.
About you (requirements)
You will be an enthusiastic individual with a keen appreciation of the needs of students, able to be flexible and willing to be part of a growing discipline at Bath Spa. You will have a demonstrable research record with a clear trajectory and an ability to use your research to further your students’ learning experience. You will have a degree in criminology or a relevant subject and have either completed your PhD or be very near to completion, preferably with a viva date agreed.
