About the roleThe School of Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychology from February 2021, or sooner dependent on availability. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching core BPS Psychology topics, with an emphasis on applied Psychology and/or Business Psychology. Experience of teaching research methods would also be an advantage, as would the ability to teach contemporary applications of Psychology.
The successful candidate must hold a doctorate (or be nearing completion) in a relevant field and be willing to contribute to a thriving research culture in psychology at Bath Spa. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience of open science research practices. Ability to also teach Environmental Psychology and Sustainability would be very welcome.
About you (requirements)
You will have a BPS recognised degree and a PhD, or nearing completion, in a relevant subject area, along with recent experience of teaching within Higher Education. Alongside expertise in an Applied area of Psychology, you will have knowledge that could be applied to core areas of psychology, Levels 4 to 6. In addition, you will have experience of research methods teaching and evidence of relevant research and research publications, ideally with experience of research supervision and successful bidding for research funding. Experience of module and course development is also desirable.
You will be expected to contribute to activities such as involvement with events, building appropriate links with business and community and will be involved in quality-assurance processes.
